Weekly Update - March 30 - April 5

Welcome to the Weekly Update – March 30 – April 5.  Spring has brought a revolving door of dating and break up rumors that have left me dizzy. Weekly Update - March 30 -  April 5

Kim Min Kyu

On April 1st, Kim Min Kyu began his official military enlistment.  The actor will be serving as an active duty soldier after finishing basic training.  He took to instagram to share photos of him saluting to his fans.  We wish him a safe and speedy return.

Song Kang

On April 2nd, Song Kang started his military enlistment.  The actor will also be stationed as an active duty soldier.  Ahead of his enlistment, he wrote a letter to fans informing them of his upcoming service and took to instagram to show off his new military haircut.  We will look forward to his return!

Sol Kyung Gu, Park Eun Bin, Park Byung Eun, and Yoon Chan Young

Sol Kyung Gu, Park Eun Bin, Park Byung Eun, and Yoon Chan Young will star in the upcoming medical crime thriller “Hyper Knife”.  A young genius doctor who had her career ruined by her heartless mentor, is suddenly reunited with him.  Now the pair will have to try to put their troubled past behind them and work together again. “Hyper Knife” is scheduled to air some time later this year.

Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku

Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku will star opposite each other in the upcoming Disney mystery thriller “Nine Puzzles”.  A talented profiler was the only witness to a 10 year old case.  But when she gets teamed up with a detective who believes she is the number one suspect for the old crime, she will have to find a way to win his trust to solve the current case that is in front of them.  “Nine Puzzles” will air some time next year.

 Chaeyoung and  Zion.T

TWICE’s Chaeyoung singer Zion.T have confirmed that they are in a romantic relationship.  Rumors speculate that the pair met through a mutual friend and have been dating for the last 6 months.  JYP Entertainment later confirmed the relationship.

Won Hyuk and Lee Soo Min

On April 2nd, Singer Won Hyuk and actress  Lee Soo Min were married.  The couple shared their journey toward matrimony with fans through the television program “Joseon’s Lover”.  We wish the couple many happy years ahead.

Karina and Lee Jae Wook

aepsa’s Karina and Lee Jae Wook have broken up just 5 weeks after their relationship was confirmed to the public.  Lee Jae Wook’s agency claims that the actor feels that he needs to give his full attention to his acting career for the present.  Their dating rumor shocked many fans when the story first broke.  

Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol

Following a messy public scandal that felt more like the kdramas they usually act in, actors Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol have confirmed their break up.  A representative from Han So Hee’s agency expressed their regret for the actress’ recent actions and emotions.

Midas Touch

KISS OF LIFE is sure you think too much in their new single “Midas Touch”.  This hip-hop funk track has upbeat percussion and a 2000’s style vocal track.  The MV shows the 4 member group as characters from Greek mythology, with their own modern touch on the stories.

QWER

T.B.H.

Rookie group QWER is feeling dizzy in their first comeback single “T.B.H.”.  This fun pop rock song is has a cute, quirky style that is reminiscent of 2000’s J-Pop.  The drum and bass have a catchy rhythm with a surprising twist of grit.  The MV shows the group members as high school students who become characters in their own anime adventure.

VVUP

Locked On

New group VVUP is finding their way back to happiness in their new debut title track “Locked On”.  This cheerful pop track is flirty and melodic, as the group leads with strong vocals and more subdued instrumentals backing them up.  The MV, filmed on location in Los Angeles, follows the story of a group of students who train and compete in a school talent show.

TXT

Deja Vu

TXT is remembering a starlit promise in their new single “Deja Vu”.  This emotional pop ballad uses vulnerable vocals, tiny percussion, and dynamic synth to weave a thoughtful spell, as if we are joining them in their melancholy memories.  The MV shows the members, as they each express a desire to be reunited with a loved one.

CHUNG HA

I’m Ready

CHUNG HA has nothing to fear in her new single “I’m Ready”.  This club ready dance pop track keeps an invigorating pace as they swirling synths pulse through the electrifying track. The MV capitalizes on the club elements by showcasing CHUNG HA’s charismatic choreography.

Love is Like a Cat

The BL romantic comedy “Love is Like a Cat”  premiered on April 1st.  A global superstar tries to clean up his tarnished reputation by working at a pet daycare, even though he has a fear of animals.  But the director of the daycare makes an effort to help him recover from his trauma and overcome his fear.

Wedding Impossible

The romantic comedy “Wedding Impossible” finished on April 2nd.  A struggling actress agrees to poses as her rich friend’s wife.  But her friend’s brother is determined to expose their deception and stop the wedding before it happens.  And things will become even more complicated when they brother begins to develop feelings for the woman.

The Impossible Heir

The Hulu business thriller “The Impossible Heir” ended on April 3rd.  Two childhood friends decide to make the most of it when they find out that one of them has a rich father he never knew about. But a greedy woman will do her best to come between them and use the situation to her own advantage.

Parasyte:  The Grey

The Netflix sci-fi horror drama “Parasyte:  The Grey” released all 6 episodes on April 5th.  When parasites fall from space and begin taking over the bodies and minds of humans through infected water, a team of researchers will work to exterminate the deadly intruders and save the human population.
