The Story
A university art student, who had her heart broken by the art teacher she was dating, is no longer interested in dating or falling in love. But one day she meets a handsome fellow student known as the campus flirt. He is a player who is kind and friendly to everyone, but keeps a safe emotional distance. Despite herself, Yoo Na Bi finds she is drawn to him, but how will she ever know if his feelings towards her are sincere or all just part of a game?
Should I Watch
"Nevertheless" is a modern romantic drama that is provocative and, at times, frustrating. This is not a sweet love story full of cute, couple moments. Instead it focuses on two young people who are on a crash course to disaster with a toxic, unhealthy relationship. That doesn't mean there is no chemistry, or even potential, but it's not always easy to watch. If you dislike manipulative male leads, you should probably just skip this one all together. But if you are looking for a mature romantic drama with annoyingly flawed yet realistic characters, you might give it a try. I give "Nevertheless" a 7 out of 10 ramen.
