Welcome to the Weekly Update – November 20 – 26. We were lucky to have the premiere of “School 2021” this week as well as a few new casting announcements. You win some, you lose some in the military news front as we said goodbye to Seo Kang Joon but welcomed back U-Kwon. And the music had some great new releases, including one of my favorites, Gaho. Military News
Seo Kang Joon and U-Kwon
On November 23rd, actor Seo Kang Joon began his military enlistment as an active duty soldier. The star took to Instagram on a live broadcast to share the news with his fans and promoted his latest two projects that haven’t been released yet. We wish him and safe and speedy return. Block B’s U-Kwon was officially discharged from his military service on November 21st. The singer has been home since his final leave began on October 1st, but this week marks his official discharge. Block B has eagerly welcomed U-Kwon home and are ready to begin performing together again soon.
Casting News
Lee Kwang Soo, Seolhyun, And Jin Hee Kyung
Lee Kwang Soo, AOA’s Seolhyun, and Jin Hee Kyung will be starring in the upcoming mystery comedy “Murderer’s Shopping List”. Based on a novel with the same title, the drama is about a mysterious murder victim who shows up in an average, quiet neighborhood outside of Seoul. As the case is investigated, the most important clue to the crime is a receipt from a local supermarket. “Murderer’s Shopping List” is scheduled to air some time in the first half of next year.
Im Soo Hyang
Im Soo Hyang will be joining So Ji Sub and Shin Sung Rok in the upcoming medical crime drama “Dr. Lawyer”. The drama tells the story of a lawyer and prosecutor who work together to defend those who have been victimized by the wealthy and privileged. “Dr. Lawyer” will begin airing on March 4, 2022.
Seo Ye Ji, Park Byung Eun, and Lee Sang Yeob
The upcoming romantic drama “Eve’s Scandal” has confirmed it’s final casting. Seo Ye Ji, Park Byung Eun, and Lee Sang Yeob will be joining Yoo Sun in the story of a high profile divorce case and the shocking price tag it bears. The drama began filming on November 24th and will air some time in the first half of 2022.

Trauma
SF9 is hemmed in by their memories in their newest title track “Trauma”. The smooth dance track features smooth, dreamy R&B style vocals with a heavy thumping bassline. While the lyrics talk about trying to recover from a toxic relationship, the MV shows them reliving the traumas they have experienced and their desire to break away from it.
ONEWE
Star
ONEWE are chasing the stars in their new pre-release single “Star”. The emotional rock ballad featured melodic keys and beautiful strings that allow the vocals to soar over the top in a powerful performance. The MV shows the band performing as the sky lights up behind them with shooting stars, but the real stars are in the musicians themselves, as they play their hearts out.
Gaho
Right Now
Gaho is ready to “leave it all behind” in the title track to his first full length album “Right Now”. This indie pop track explodes with intense emotion and a gorgeous instrumental arrangement. The MV shows Gaho walking along the seaside and sitting at a piano as the musician gives a dynamic performance that shows off the amazing arrangements and compositions that he excels at.

Race
Former B.A.P member Bang Yongguk is speeding through life in his new single “Race”. The energetic track combines hip-hop with plenty of distorted rock guitar to create a fresh sound that is gritty and blistering. The MV features the singer driving through the neon lights as he confidently tells his listeners to never give up on their dreams. The singers performance is charasmatic and driven.

FLASHBACK
B.I.G is getting away from it all for some rest and relaxation in their new single “FLASHBACK”. The upbeat pop dance track features bright tropical tones and a catchy dance beat that is fun and uplifting. The group, who have shrunk from the original six members down to four, remember the glories of their past as they dance and hang out together.
Hwa Sa
I’m a 빛
Mamamoo’s Hwa Sa is back with a supercharged new single “I’m a 빛. The sleek and sexy dance track features driving synth and smooth lyrics. The MV showcases Hwa Sa’s beauty and dancing skills as she sends a message to her loved ones to apologize for the times she was too busy to appreciate them.
GHOST9
Control
GHOST9 returns to their edgier roots in their new single “Control”. This angsty dance track is full of attitude and swag while drawing on trap beats to create a big, theatrical sound. The MV features the group’s precise choreography and teamwork as they try to escape a dystopian nightmare.

School 2021
After an unfortunate delay due to a CO-VID 19 diagnosis, the youth drama “School 2021” premiered on November 24th. The current installment of the popular series will focus on students at a specialty high school and how they deal with the stress of friendship, love, and the drive to succeed. “School 2021” will finish airing on January 13, 2022.
