Welcome to the Weekly Update – May 21 – 27. It’s been a great week, with lots of new casting announcements. Park Gyu Young, CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk, Lee Chung Ah, Lee Dong Gun, and Jun Hyosung will be appearing in the upcoming mystery drama “Celebrity“. Park Gyu Young will play the role of a woman who finds herself propelled into the world of the powerful and famous. Seeking fame, she surrounds herself with people who will help her rise in status. “Celebrity” will air some time next year.
Kim Min Kyu
Kim Min Kyu will be starring in the upcoming fantasy romance “High Priest Rembary“. The drama is based on a webtoon titled “Holy Idol”. It’s about a mysterious priest who comes from another world and wakes up in the body of an unknown idol. “High Priest Rembary” will air some time in the first half of next year.
Kim Dong Wook And Jin Ki Joo
Kim Dong Wook and Jin Ki Joo will be starring opposite each other in the upcoming time travel romance “You, Whom I Met By Chance“. Two time travellers meet while traveling through the past and begin a journey together through time. “You, Whom I Met By Chance” is scheduled to premiere some time in August.
Chun Woo Hee
IU announced this week that she would be stepping down from her role in the upcoming mystery drama “Money Game“, due to a scheduling conflict. Chun Woo Hee has agreed to take her place in the series. The drama, based on a webtoon of the same name, pits 8 players against each other in a high stakes game of survival. “Money Game” will air later this year.
Joy And Chu Young Woo
Red Velvet’s Joy And Chu Young Woo will be starring in the upcoming romantic comedy “Unexpected Country Diary“. A city vetrenarian picks up and moves to the country to keep an eye on his aging grandfather. He meets a beautiful local police officer who helps him learn the ins and outs of small town living. “Unexpected Country Diary” will air some time later this year.
Jin Goo, Yang Dong Geun, Jang Dong Yoon, Kim Jae Hwa, Lee Hong Nae, Jung Yi Seo, and Park Ye Rin
Jin Goo, Yang Dong Geun, Jang Dong Yoon, Kim Jae Hwa, Lee Hong Nae, Jung Yi Seo, and Park Ye Rin will be starring in the upcoming original WATCHA drama “King of the Desert“. The star-studded series will show the difference between those who are willing to do anything to get rich and those who refuse to let money rule their lives. The series will also be released as a webtoon in the future. “King of the Desert” will be available to watch on the OTT platform WATCHA later this year.

Lee Yoo Mi, Ong Seong Wu, Byun Woo Seok, Kim Hae Sook, and Kim Jung Eun will be starring in the upcoming sequel to the popular romantic comedy “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon”. “Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon” will focus on Do Bong Soon’s cousin, played by Lee Yoo Mi, who shares the genetic gift of superhuman strength. “Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon” will begin filming this summer and is scheduled to air some time next year

Lee Eol
Actor Lee Eol passed away on May 26th after a year long battle with throat cancer. He was 58 years old. Lee Eol began acting in 1983 and recently appeared in the award winning drama “Stove League” and “Voice 4“. A memorial service will be held for the actor on May 28th.

The electro dance track is fueled by energy and attitude and complimented by crunchy percussion and gritty guitar. LIGHTSUM are back in school for their new title track “Alive”. The pop track is bright and energetic, with upbeat vocals and distorted guitar. The MV shows the band at Alive School, singing about someone who makes their heart beat and gives them excitement. The school girl choreography is full of personality and fun enthusiasm.

Hot
SEVENTEEN is turning up the heat in their new single “Hot”. The hip-hop track is brash and aggressive with plenty of interesting instrumental effects that keep it fresh sounding. The MV shows the band walking through a desert as they set the world on fire with their fiery confidence.

The mystery drama “Green Mother’s Club” finished airing on May 26th. A group of elementary school mothers come together to share life and friendship through the lens of motherhood.

The fantasy action drama “Tomorrow” aired its finale on May 21st. A group of grim reapers do their best to save people from taking their own lives. When a young man ends up in a coma, he becomes part of their “Crisis Mangement Team” even though he is still half human.
