Welcome to my Weekly Update – January 29 – February 4. Happy Lunar New Year, Friends. This week is kind of a “mini” update since the holiday has been a break for most every one. Go Hyun Jung, Ahn Jae Hong, and Yeom Hye Ran
Go Hyun Jung, Ahn Jae Hong, and Yeom Hye Ran will be starring in the upcoming Netflix thriller drama “Mask Girl“. Based on a webtoon by the same name, the 9 episode drama tells the story of a young woman who works as an average company employee during the day, but at night she is a broadcast journalist. Because she is insecure about her looks, she does all of her broadcasts while wearing a mask. “Mask Girl” will air some time later this year.

Actor Kim Min Joon and fashion designer Dami Kwon welcomed their baby boy Eden on February 4th. The couple have been married since October 2019 and this is their first child. Congratulations to the new parents!

Crisp electric guitar deliver just the right punch for this concept as the singer transforms between a feminine fairytale image and a darker, tougher heroine.

Jamie, formerly known as Park Jimin, is trying out her spicier side in her newest single “Pity Party”. The all-English dance disco track includes funky strings and rhythmic guitar to chug its way along. The MV is full of creepy images and bold dancing that show a freer side of the K-Pop singer, as she sets her sites on a more international market.

NCT’s Mark tries to define himself in his first solo single “Child”. The bluesy alt rock track blends gritty minimalistic vocals with Mark’s signature rap to create a song that is full of emotional ebb and flow. The MV shows the musician in his casual modern fasion as he struggles with his life and adult responsibilities. Lyrically, the song is an honest confessional about success as an idol and trying to discover who he really is as a person.

The family drama “Uncle” finished up on January 30th. A washed up musician faces a new challenge when he is asked to take care of his young nephew. Now he is trying to juggle responsibilities between restarting his career and playing the role of parent. Meanwhile his sister has divorced her husband and gone into hiding, but her new apartment building gives her a new perspective on love and family.
