Welcome to the Weekly Update – April 15 – 21. This week was a dark one for fans who said goodbye to their beloved Moonbin. Unfortunately, all other news pales in the face of this tragedy. j-hope
On April 18th, BTS’ j-hope became the second member of the popular group to enlist in the military. j-hope will serve as an active duty soldier after finishing his basic training. All of his bandmates, including Jin, who is already serving his military time, were there to see him off with love and well-wishes. We wish you a safe and speedy return!
Casting News
Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Sung Oh, and Choi Jae Rim
Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Sung Oh, and Choi Jae Rim will join Kim Tae Hee in the upcoming suspense thriller “House With a Yard”. Based on a novel by the same name, a wife with a successful husband and a seemingly perfect life becomes obsessed with the strange smell coming from her back yard. “House With a Yard” will premiere some time in June.
Jeon Jong Seo
Jeon Jong Seo will star in the upcoming historical drama “Queen Woo”. This action drama, inspired by a real historical figure, tells the story of the first Korean Queen to be named. twice. Through strength and determination, she will rule the people of Goguryeo. “Queen Woo” will air some time later this year.
Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Joo Myung, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, and Lee Joo Seung
Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Joo Myung, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, and Lee Joo Seung will be appearing in the upcoming sports rom-com “Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand” . The drama will tell the story of a group of young people who are training in traditional Korean wrestling, called ssireum. Against the backdrop of Geosan, the friends will pursue their dreams and discover love and friendship along the way. “Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand” will premiere some time later this year.
Yoo Seon Ho
Yoo Seon Ho will be joining Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk. in the upcoming rom-com “Park’s Contract Marriage Story”. Based on a webtoon of the same name, this time travel story is about a Joseon woman mysteriously finding herself alone in the present day. Yoon Seon Ho will play a handsome celebrity who is the brother of Bae In Hyuk’s character, Kang Tae Ha. “Park’s Contract Marriage Story” is scheduled to premiere some time later this year.

Moonbin
On April 19th, ASTRO’s Moonbin passed away at the age of 25. He was found Wednesday evening in his Gangnam apartment by his manager. The police quickly released a report stating that it appeared that the young performer had taken his own life. We send our condolenses to his family, friends, and countless fans. He will be severely missed.

Haegeum
Agust D also know as BTS’ Suga is trapped in the rhythm in his new single “Haegeum”. This powerful and intense hip-hop track is backed by the rappers agressive vocal skills and plenty of tough attitude. The song blends modern styles with traditional Korean instruments to give it a timeless feel. The cinematic MV feels like its own mini movie and the storyline connects to past MVs by the artist.

DRIPPIN slows things down for their title track “SEVEN SINS”. This slow-burn R&B track focuses on an easy groove and sleek production. High percussion and electrifying synth give the song a burst of energy. The MV is theatrical and charismatic as the group infuse each other with magical powers.

MUSTB takes the lonely road in their title track “ROYALTY”. The anthemic rock track starts with a simple piano and builds into a heavier rock influenced sound. A nice, strong percussion gives the song backbone as it picks up speed. The melodic vocals are upbeat and full of hope. The MV focuses on bright colors and outdoor settings as the group takes on the world around them.

Highlight’s LEE Gi KWANG is running from ya in his new single “Predator”. This heavy synthwave track has a powerful synth beat that is the perfect compliment for the singers light, airy vocals. The MV shows the singer in the company of a bright butterfly as he travels from location to location hoping to escapte the addictive love he is singing about.

The song is a great shot of adrenaline that is fun from start to finish. The lyrics compare the band to a storm that they hope will help their music sweep through the industry with a powerful force. The MV shows them in an icy wonderland as they charm fans with their powers of persuasion.

The popular sci-fi drama “Duty After School” premiered the second half of its series on April 21st. A group of 3rd year high school students are called on to fight against a mysterious alien force threatening the world.
