Welcome to the Weekly Update – February 17- 23. Things are back to normal this week, after a couple quiet ones. This week saw the end of two great dramas with strong female leads. Casting news gave us several new dramas to look forward to this year. And the music of the week focused on some bright, positive pop music to chase away the duldrums of February. Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee
Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee will star in the upcoming Netflix rom-com “Melo Movie”. A quiet film director meets an outgoing and charming film critic on set during an interview. As they navigate the struggles and pitfalls of the industry, they will learn how nice it is to have someone to stand by their side. “Melo Movie” will air some time later this year.
Lee Naeun
Lee Naeun will star alongside Lee Min Ki and Kwak Sun Young in the upcoming crime comedy drama “Crash”. The drama follows a pair of traffic investigators who look into the causes and circumstances behind recent road crimes. Lee Naeun will play the lead in one of the shows’ cases, as a victim of a recent accident. “Crash” will premiere on May 6th.
Seunghee
Oh My Girl’s Seunghee will star in the upcoming historical drama “Jeong Nyeon”. Based on a webtoon of the same name, the drama takes place in the 1950s and tells the story of a woman who uses her singing and acting skills to rise above her lack of education or financial security. “Jeong Nyeon” is scheduled to air in October.
