Music News
Super M
Super M released “100” on August 14th. The song is the first single for their new studio album, “Super One”. The chorus says, “we go,we go, we go” and the images follow that theme. It features racing cars, speeding trains, and fast footed choreography. We will also be able to watch Super M perform the song on Good Morning America on August 20th. But until then, check out this heart thumping video.
Hur Hyun Jun
Hur Hyun Jun, previously known as Hwall, left The Boyz in 2019 due to health problems, so it is especially good to see him in this solo debut. His teaser video, announcing his solo debut, promises we should “trust the magic of new beginnings”. And this first song puts him off to a good start. “Baragi” is an English love confession. The vocals are beautiful and sweet, and the visual story is an elegant fairy tale. This one is well worth a watch.
Rothy with Chanyeol
This sweet song, called “Ocean View”, tells the story of summer love. If you are still clinging to those summer beach vibes, this is the video for you. Rothy is adorable as she frolics in the waves and gives advice on how to travel alone but not be lonely. And Chanyeol brings some fun rapping in the middle to keep things fresh. “Ocean View” is another good addition for your summer feel-good playlist.
Park Bo Gum
Let’s face it. None of are ready for Park Bo Gum to leave us for his military service on August 31st. So it was kind of him to leave us with some good memories. Not only is he starring in the upcoming drama “Record of Youth”, set to begin airring on September 7th, but now he also released new music. “All My Love” is a beautiful English serenade. The physical album will feature a version of the song in English, Korean, and an instrumental.
Wonho
Hur Hyun Jun isn’t the only one making a solo debut this week after leaving a group. Wonho left Monsta X last October amid rumors of drug use and money issues. But Wonho has fought back to release an upcoming EP, Love Synonym Pt. 1: Right For Me. The first single, “Losing Me”, is a tribute to fans, and perhaps his ex-band mates, as well. This sweeping ballad is a sung entirely in English and is a message to thank those who have stuck by him through his difficult times.
