My Personal Thoughts and Ratings
‘The Haunted Palace’ is a supernatural historical drama full of spooky curses and palace intrigue. The ghostly mystery is engaging and the themes of acceptance, revenge and atonement are thought-provoking without seeming preachy. Kim Ji Hoon is fabulous as the wise yet remarkably human King.
Unfortunately, the story does lag a bit in the middle. The ghostly elements can be a little too intense if you don’t like this style of drama. And the lead couple lacked a bit of chemistry. But I enjoyed the supernatural mystery and the strong moral themes. I give ‘The Haunted Palace’ an 8 out of 10.
