Welcome to the Weekly Update – October 14 – 20. We broke even this week with one drama finishing and a new one starting up, although Netflix did drop all 9 episodes of “Doona” at once. Park Ji Hoon and Hong Ye Ji
Park Ji Hoon and Hong Ye Ji will star together in the upcoming fantasy romance drama “Fantastic Sonata”. Based on a webtoon of the same name, a Crown Prince hides his true identity while working as a fashion designer in a local boutique. But his life will be turned upside down when he meets a beautiful young assassin who plans to murder the king. “Fantastic Sonata” will air some time in January.
Jung Ryeo Won
Jung Ryeo Won will appear opposite Wi Ha Joon in the upcoming romantic drama “Graduation”. A Korean language instructor for an academy is forced back from the brink of “retirement” when her star pupil returns as a fellow instructor. And he has every intention of finally her heart. “Graduation” will air some time next year.
Lee Bo Young, Lee Moo Saeng, Lee Chung Ah, and Lee Min Jae
Lee Bo Young, Lee Moo Saeng, Lee Chung Ah, and Lee Min Jae will star in the upcoming mystery drama “Hide”. A woman is left searching for answers after her husband suddenly disappears. And one handsome stranger seems to hold the key to all of her questions. “Hide” will air some time next year.

Uhm Hyun Kyung and Cha Seo Won
On October 16th, Uhm Hyun Kyung and Cha Seo Won celebrated the birth of their first child. The couple had previously starred together in two different dramas, “Miss Lee” in 2019 and “The Second Husband” in 2021-22. Chae Seo Won is currently serving in the military, but the pair plan to hold a wedding ceremony when he finishes his service in May 2024. We wish the new family many happy years together!

After gaining popularity early this year with his appearance on the reality show “Boys Planet”, Jay Chang released two new MVs this week. “Rockstar” is a new jack swing style track with brittle percussion and bits of smooth guitar. His sweet vocals dance rhythmically over the top. The cute MV shows him appearing on a late night talk show to perform his new hit.

LOONA’s Chuu makes her solo debut this week with her new single “Howl”. This lively pop track starts as a melodic ballad before the electro-bass kicks in with rich, chugging energy. Chuu’s angelic vocals carry the track in a light, airy delivery that feels hopeful and bright.
