The Story
A chaebol in a vicious fight for succession encounters a problem when he finds out his artificial heart is running out of batteries. But when he runs into a woman who was struck by lightning as a child, he learns that she can somehow charge his heart battery. So he offers her a contract with a large payout if she will simply stay available whenever he needs to recharge.
Should I Watch
'Take Charge of My Heart' is a sweet romantic comedy about finding healing and embracing the things that make you different. The 10 episode series is breezy and an easy binge-watch. The awkward lead characters are fun to watch and they have a great on-screen chemistry.
But this isn't a great series if you are looking for a complex, realistic love story. The far-fetched plot requires letting go of practical expectations. There is nothing especially new or note-worthy here. It's meant to be goofy, cute, and simple, and as long as that's what you're looking for, you shouldn't be disappointed. I know I wasn't. I give 'Take Charge of My Heart a 4 out of 5 ramen.

Kim Young Kwang debuted as a model before appearing with a supporting role in the 2008 romantic business drama 'The World That They Live In'. Other popular dramas he has appeared in include the 2025 crime thriller 'Walking on Thin Ice' and the 2025 crime thriller 'Trigger'. Look for him to star in the upcoming romantic comedy 'Joryeonui Yeowang' scheduled to air some time next year.
Chae Soo Bin
Chae Soo Bin debuted in 2014 with a supporting role in the historical drama movie 'My Dictator'. Her first television drama starring role came the next year with the weekend family drama 'House of Bluebird' Other popular dramas she has appeared in include the 2024 mystery thriller 'When the Phone Rings' and the 2022 romantic comedy 'The Fabulous'. Look for her to star in the psychological thriller 'Love Bait' scheduled to premiere in May, 2027.
