A greedy business chairman gets a second chance to live his life when he mysteriously changes bodies with a struggling young soccer player after they are involved in a traffic accident. While the chairman's body is stuck in a coma at the local hospital, the chairman uses the young man's body to try to protect his company and find out who his real friends and allies are. And as he tries to keep things running smoothly from his lowly job as intern, he will find a strong supporter in his youngest daughter.

Should I Watch
'Reborn Rookie' is a business revenge drama with a body swapping element. It is based on a web novel written by the same writer as the 'Reborn Rich' series, so some of the story elements may seem similar. Lee Jun Young does great in this double role and his mechinations as the old chairman turned intern are some of the stronger scenes in the series. The more serious themes of greed, privilege, and betrayal give the drama some good substance.
But this drama does start kind of slow. It might take a couple episodes to really draw you in. Most of the story centers around the family business and the children's fight to inherit it, which isn't everyone's cup of tea. While this series is often billed as a comedy, it really dials back the slapstick comedy moments in favor of a heavier, more serious tone. But I enjoyed the story and I always like seeing Lee Jun Young. I give 'Reborn Rookie' a 3 out of 5 ramen.

Lee Jun Young debuted as a pop star in 2014, joining the already existing group U-KISS. His acting debut came in 2017 with a guest role in the web series 'A Special Meal of the Weirdo Nara'. Later that same year he had his first starring role in the comedy drama 'Avengers Social Club'. Other popular dramas he has starred in include the 2025 romantic comedy 'Pump Up the Healthy Love' and the 2025 action thriller 'Weak Hero Class 2'. Look for him to star in the current Romantic drama 'Four Hands, Two Sonatas' scheduled to premiere on August 29th.
Lee Joo Myung
Lee Joo Myung debuted in a music video in 2016 before making her drama debut with a supporting role in the 2019 romantic comedy 'My Fellow Citizens'. Her first starring role was in the 2022 romantic drama 'Twenty Five Twenty One'. Other popular dramas she has starred in include the 2023 romantic mystery 'Like Flowers in Sand' and the 2025 romantic drama 'My Youth'. Look for her to star in the upcoming romantic comedy 'Joryeonui Yeowang' scheduled to air some time next year.
